BIOGRAPHY / ORIGINS

Valparaíso
& Amereida.

Poetry, architecture and experiment were part of the environment in which I learned to think.

BACKGROUND

A language
of my own.

I grew up close to the experimental culture surrounding Amereida and Ciudad Abierta in the Valparaíso region. In that world, poetry, architecture, the body and education were treated as forms of inquiry rather than isolated disciplines.

My maternal grandfather, poet Godofredo Iommi, and my father, architect Manuel Casanueva Carrasco, belonged to that wider intellectual landscape.

My own path became language: classical philology, ancient Greek and Latin, and the problem of how texts become lived forms of thought and practice.
