BIOGRAPHY / 01
Language,
source,
practice.
A classical philologist and university professor from Valparaíso working across ancient languages, philosophy and ritual.
CURRENT WORK
Reading is
the beginning.
My work begins with texts. Ancient Greek and Latin are working languages for reading philosophy, poetry and ritual material with greater precision.
Alongside university teaching, I work privately with students who want direct access to sources and enough structure to develop independent judgment. Pronunciation, grammar, translation and historical context become part of the practice itself.
Philosophy came first. I studied at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso in 2004, where my early work on Diogenes and Cynic philosophy opened a question that has stayed with me ever since: how ideas survive through language, and what happens when texts pass into practice. That path later led to a Magíster in Hispanic Linguistics from Universidad de Chile in 2010.
Teaching grew alongside that work. It began with Diogenes of Sinope in 2005, continued at Universidad de Viña del Mar from 2006 to 2012 and Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María from 2008 to 2018, and since 2010 has had its main home at Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez. In 2022, I also worked as a tutor at the Writing Centre of Universidad de los Andes. Academic profile
